Provence Promotion, the Aix-Marseille-Provence Metropolitan Authority, Marseille-Provence Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the City of Marseille Welcome Mr. Stephen Cheung, President of the World Trade Center Los Angeles for a Visit to the Aix-Marseille-Provence Region.

Mr. Cheung was in the region for a visit organized over three days, from April 10 to 13, to learn about the region's key projects and to identify potential partners for California businesses. Included in the program were visits to major economic stakeholders in the real estate, industrial and digital sectors that make Provence the booming region it is. Among the companies and organizations opening their doors for the visit were Thecamp, Airbus Helicopters, TEAM Henri-Fabre and Daher.

The President of the World Trade Center Los Angeles also had the opportunity to meet some of the region's major economic stakeholders during presentations of the Euroméditerranée urban regeneration consortium and Marseille's port authority, Grand Port Maritime de Marseille.

This tour of the local ecosystem was also the chance for the former aide to the Mayor of Los Angeles to meet Marseille Mayor, Mr. Jean Claude Gaudin and the President of the Marseille-Provence Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Mr. Jean Luc Chauvin, at two dinners at which Marseille's position as a gateway to Africa and many other points regarding the local economic fabric were discussed with a view to setting up partnerships. Moreover, during his visit to the headquarters of Provence Promotion, Mr. Cheung declared, "It is important for us to learn about the Aix-Marseille-Provence region and its infrastructure and have the maximum amount of information in order to set up sound and rational partnerships. That's the aim of our visit."

It should be noted that this visit could be followed by that of a delegation of Californian business people headed by the City of Los Angeles. Learning about the regional ecosystem will allow Mr. Cheung to discover the many similarities that exist between the two cities, in particular relating to projects in the maritime and port, aircraft, digital, agribusiness and medical sectors.
