A campus unlike any other, training web developers in just five months to meet the needs of companies
Learn all about Wild Code School, a new-generation school that offers intensive training for the web developers of tomorrow. Created in 2014 by Anna Stépanoff and Romain Cœur, its concept has been tried and tested with a professional integration rate above 85%. After five months of training, students are ready to enter the workforce. The school meets the needs of a tense market where companies’ demands are on the rise. The Marseille campus is the 11th to open in France. Along with the Provence Promotion teams, the Wild Code School truly has truly fallen for the city and its ecosystem.
At a time when digitalization is in full force, web development skills are high in demand. Companies are constantly seeking out talent to work on their websites and mobile apps. Wild Code School responds to this demand.
It was when she decided to leave Paris that Anna Stépanoff, co-founder and CEO of the Wild Code School, conceived of this project. She decided to move to the countryside, but did not want to abandon her profession or her twin passions: education and new technologies.
The first school opened in La Loupe, a small commune of just 3530 people located in Le Perche (Eure-et-Loir) and became a fast success. Nine other schools were then opened throughout France, in Paris, Lyon, Lille, Bordeaux, Toulouse, Strasbourg, Reims, Orléans and Biarritz. Now, it's Marseille’s turn.
Named one of 10 women to follow in Tech in 2018 by the association StartHer, Anna Stépanoff explains: “Our goal is to cover the South of France. Marseille has all the potential to become a ‘Barcelona à la française’. Its openness to the world and to new technologies are two qualities that immediately won me over.”
Its success depends on an original educational model combining agile methods and collaborative work. The “blended learning” formation combines online learning and classroom training. In brief, these are practical case studies that allow students to progress. With the support of their fellow Wilders, they participate in workshops and dojos to resolve algorithmic problems and develop three projects, including one real one to be carried out with a company.
Wild Code School’s greatest strength is that it is open to everyone. Job seekers as well as employed professionals who want to improve their skills or change professions are eligible for admission. No diploma is required, not even the Baccalaureat. Students obtain a Bac+2 equivalent, recognized and accredited by the French government. Local start-ups are often very interested in these proactive individuals who often possess a useful combination of skills. The large network of startuppers based in Aix-Marseille, the urban center known as French Tech, is fertile ground for the local campus in the heart of the Euroméditerranée district.
