Trophos coordinates the Mito Care medical program

Specialized in clinical research in the fields of neurology and cardiology, the Marseilles-based French company Trophos has just been selected by the European Union to lead the MitoCare consortium, a 2½ -year international translational medicine project.

Amid this consortium of 16 European partners (clinical centers, university research centers and private companies) and with financing to the tune of € 6M, the company is beginning studies on thecardioprotectiveTRO40303 molecule it discovered in August 2010. The aim of these studies is to demonstrate its efficacy and safety with a view to clinical validation. Thanks to this program, and to the development work undertaken on its leading molecule, olesoxime, Trophos has gone from start-up to established company, a true success story for our region.
