On May 17, 2016, Provence Promotion will take part in the "Shake Your e-Commerce" event at the Grand Théâtre de Provence in Aix-en-Provence. The day's agenda will include a variety of themed presentations and informal exchanges whose aim is to galvanize stakeholders in the online retail sector. International experts and local businesses -- including national leaders -- will host the discussions. Provence Promotion and Euroméditerranée are partnering with the event, which is the ideal setting to promote the wealth of the e-commerce digital ecosystem in Provence. This is why, to mark the occasion, the agency will host 15 project sponsors who are planning to develop their businesses in the region and who will be able to take advantage of the agency's network on site. The agency and Euroméditerranée will share an exhibitor booth where they will offer entrepreneurs from outside the department comprehensive support for relocating or starting a business in Provence.
For the third year in a row, Shake is focusing on organizing cutting-edge e-commerce events that bring people together and shake up the status quo. Backed by Axelle Lemaire, Secretary of State for Digital Affairs, this mix of plenary sessions, seminars and workshops will explore various avenues of thought to plan for coming advances in this booming business sector. According to FEVAD (French E-Commerce and Distance Selling Federation), the French spent 64.9 billion Euros on the Internet in 2015 with a 19% increase in the number of transactions. These figures reflect the sustained growth of the digital economy, but the role of technology in customer relations is also going through major changes.
Shake 2016 is a chance to discover winning formulas and to get a sneak peek at the technologies that will entice consumers in the future. International experts like Gary Vaynerchuk, author of The Thank You Economy, Manual Diaz, CEO of the agency Emakina France, and Rodolphe Roux, Chief Data Officer at Wiko Global will give talks to share their insights on e-commerce at a time when globalization is bound to cause the volume of e-transactions to rise and as start-ups are beginning to convert smartphones into veritable mobile banks.
Provence, one of France's top regions for e-commerce
The Aix-Marseille metropolitan area has received the French Tech label and has a world-renowned telecommunications network, making it a magnet for digital companies. The region has a complete value chain to market products and services on the Internet. The ecosystem is dense with growing start-ups and SMBs that are making a difference in the national economic landscape. Some businesses, such as AlloPneus and Voyage Privé in Aix-en-Provence and Digitick and Abritel/HomeAway in Marseille, are even ranked among the best in their industries!
The goal of The Camp, a digital campus project launched by Frederic Chevalier, founder of High Co, and slated to debut in 2017 near Aix-en-Provence, is to keep this momentum going by reinforcing creativity and skills. Provence Promotion is gearing up to host its prospective clients at the Shake trade show and preparing its exhibitor space with Euroméditerranée (booth A35). It will draw on the region's companies and on the attendance of its partners (financing institutions, incubators, associations, local authorities) to talk up Provence as a premiere destination for e-business. One should never forget that the quality of life in Provence is always a persuasive argument.
The entrepreneur behind the Kamp'n business plan will talk about the reasons that prompted him to choose Marseille to market his software for managing Google and Facebook advertising campaigns. Invited by Provence Promotion, which provided assistance to the project, he will receive the "Invest in Provence" label in the Demo Zone of the Shake lobby.
