Welcome on the One Provence booth D09
From June 28 to 30, 2022, at Parc Chanot in Marseille, the Euromaritime trade show will bring together French and Euro-Mediterranean maritime and river industry professionals.
To promote all the assets of this industry in Provence, the Metropole Aix-Marseille-Provence, the Port of Marseille-Fos, the Tourist Office of Marseille, the Bouches-du-Rhône department and Provence Promotion are joining forces on a common stand One Provence (D09).
Nearly 300 exhibitors and 5000 visitors from 40 different countries will be present. The event offers a great opportunity to promote all projects carried out in the region in favor of decarbonization. On Thursday, June 30, 2022 at 11am join us on the One Provence booth for a workshop entitled "Aix-Marseille-Provence attractive for decarbonized investments".
The Bouches-du-Rhône region is a major port area with an important economic weight. Marseille Fos, France's leading port is home to 90% of the region's companies in the sector, whether in shipping, ship repair or engineering. This vocation and geostrategic location are perfectly in line with the Euromaritime exhibition, which aims to bring together more than 5,000 visitors from France, Europe and the Mediterranean.
The exhibition opens in Marseille on Tuesday, June 28, and gives visitors the opportunity to meet major maritime players such as CMA CGM and Naval Group, as well as industrial SMEs and numerous innovative companies.
Explore and discover several spaces including:
- SEAnnovation, where 15 startups are exhibiting, including Aix Nep Tech with its hydrogen-powered ships and Marseilles-based Smart Sailors and Seanergy Hydrogen, respectively in the sectors of software for boat maintenance and desalination of seawater for hydrogen production.
- The Pôle Mer Méditerranée, stand D17, which was awarded the "Global Competitiveness cluster" label in 2005, with innovative companies such as ABIM, Enogia, AIDYS, Kietta and the startup Syroco, which will be taking part the by One Provence on the theme of decarbonization.
Faced with global warming, the maritime world wishes to accelerate its ecological and energy transition.
By digitizing their operations (maintenance, logistics, services, etc.), ports want to limit their impact on the planet. New liners are integrating cutting-edge technologies to reduce energy consumption and CO2 emissions, and maritime companies are committed to transforming their business model by taking more and more environmental criteria into account.
The Aix-Marseille-Provence Metropolis, Provence Promotion and the territory's major maritime players have been working on these issues for several years, encouraging innovation and major projects aimed at improving air quality and developing cleaner fuels.
In order to identify decarbonization solutions likely to be included in various industrial projects currently being carried out by local players, competitions such as the Smart Port Challenge or Calls for Expressions of Interest have been launched.
With the aim of raising awareness of its initiatives and the areas of development of maritime decarbonization in the region, the partners of the One Provence stand are proposing a workshop at the Euromaritime trade fair entitled "Aix-Marseille-Provence attractive for decarbonated investments", on Thursday 30 June 2022 at 11:00 am (stand D09).
Three speakers will take the floor:
- Hélène Barrau, Head of the Industrial Change, Circular Economy and Energy Transition Department at the Aix-Marseille-Provence Metropolis, will present the major maritime decarbonization projects in the metropolitan area (hydrogen plan, financial tools, dedicated land, etc...).
- Marc Van Peteghem, naval architect who co-founded the industrial startup AYRO, for the development and marketing of a wind propulsion system similar to rigid sails called Oceanwings capable of reducing CO2 emissions from ships by up to 45%.
- Alex Caizergues, world kitesurfing champion and founder of the start-up Syroco in Marseille, who has designed a "flying" vehicle, the result of extensive research into aerodynamics and fluid physics, capable of achieving speed records using wind propulsion alone. This prototype gave birth to the Syroco EfficientShip software platform to enable all types of craft, from small ships to cargo ships, to achieve the best energy efficiency.
