Four events in four different business capitals

Over the course of two months, Provence Promotion met with members of the Massilia Mundi business ambassador network in four countries: the United States, Canada, Spain, and England. Whether as part of a trade show or a prospecting mission, the agency organized these meetings to discuss the economic advantages and investment appeal of Aix-Marseille with this professional community that is united by its love of Provence. These events were also an opportunity to build friendly ties between Massilia Mundi ambassadors while encouraging both existing and new members of the network to promote the Aix-Marseille-Provence territory in their business circles.

Created in 2013, the year that Marseille-Aix-Provence was the host territory for the European Capital of Culture, the Massilia Mundi community brings together business professionals in France and around the world who admire Provence and want to promote the territory.

The members of the community work in all different fields (maritime sector, consulting, insurance, tourism, digital…) and in all different roles (company leaders, development directors, consultants, entrepreneurs, project managers…), but they share the same enthusiasm and optimism for Provence.

Provence Promotion organized events for the network in London, Montreal, Los Angeles, and Barcelona that were open to both expatriates and people who had adopted Provence as their own. But instead of focusing on Provence’s beautiful landscapes, rich culture, and magnificent heritage, they came to discuss its vast potential for economic development and growth.

The meetings were also an opportunity to foster mutually beneficial cooperation between members of the association and to open the door to new opportunities. For example, an expatriate in London has proposed a webinar on post-Brexit customs protocols, while another member of the network based in Barcelona wants to organize a coaching session on best practices for sourcing and recruiting talent.

“Provence Promotion, which coordinates the association, encourages us to organize these types of meetings regularly,” explains Christine Rizzato-Corcodylos, a Massilia Mundi ambassador based in Dubai, “The mutual aid dimension comes about naturally as we meet. We develop beautiful friendships and we can help each other when needed as each member has their network of contacts.”

During these most recent meetings, which were organized in the evening to provide a more casual experience, Provence Promotion was able to identify a potential project in the aviation sector and also secured an introduction to an investment fund working in the media sector.

Ambassadors who have Marseille and Provence in their hearts

The aim of these meetings is to allow people to meet face-to-face and to take the time for friendly discussions that might generate ideas for new initiatives to be carried out together.

Aix-Marseille-Provence is transforming and forging a new identity. It is now one of the most innovative and attractive French territories for international investors. Provence Promotion and the Massalia Mundi community are committed to spreading the word about this dynamic transformation. Every week, the association sends its members a media briefing to share the latest news about the success of companies based in Provence and how they are developing projects for the future.

Earlier this month, there was even more proof of the territory’s dynamic ecosystem when the Aix-Marseille-Provence metro area was named European Innovation Capital 2022. This award, which was issued on December 7 at the European Innovation Council Summit, recognizes the creative achievements and pioneering ecosystems of cities.

Provence Promotion encourages Massalia Mundi ambassadors to position themselves as liaisons and information sources for Aix-Marseille within their multi-sector and multicultural networks. The agency aims to recruit as many members as possible in the major international business cities to make the association even more vibrant and to offer its members even more convivial moments to share ideas and connections!
