For the past 10 years, the Impulse, Belle de Mai and Paca-Est business incubators have been supporting the creation of local innovating enterprises stemming from, or supported by, French public research.
Out of the 292 projects that received support, 200 new companies were set up, leading to the creation of more than 1,000 direct jobs - a success rate of 68%.
This assessment, issued to coincide with the founding of the 200th incubated company and the first conference of the PACA incubators’ creators on 31st March 2010, will add weight to a support mechanism that is constantly proving its worth.
In view of the company survival rate at 5 years, which is 85% of the supported enterprises, this economic development measure is proving to be extremely valuable for the region.
In fact, the PACA region is the third most successful region in France for the incubation of innovative projects behind Rhône-Alpes and Île-de-France in terms of the number of supported projects and the number of companies and jobs created.
