For its 20th anniversary, the Bio International Convention, organized by BIO (Biotechnology Industry Organization), is heading for Chicago from April 22 to 25, 2013.
With more than 16,000 leading industry players attending the previous edition, this global convention is increasingly being seen as the key event for the entire biotechnology sector.
Provence Promotion will be present alongside Ubifrance on the Eurobiomed competitive cluster stand.
Several local companies are also making the trip:
- Amikana Biologics, a spin-off from the CNRS that is developing tests to assess resistance to HIV treatment;
- Provence Technologies, a research laboratory specializing in fine chemicals;
- Syncrosome, a firm that carries out pre-clinical drug assessments;
- Trophos, a pharmaceutical company developing innovative therapeutics.
Matthieu Vis, head of life sciences at Provence Promotion will be charged with a two missions. The first –on behalf of Provence Promotion– will be to introduce industry professionals to the services provided by the economic development agency and highlight the assets Provence can offer. The second –on behalf of the SATT Sud-Est technology transfer accelerator– will involve presenting a portfolio of technologies and the manufacturing license opportunities available to biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies attending the Chicago event.
