International Business Development Mission to Photonics West 2013!

Engineers, researchers and industrialists will soon be gathering at the 2013 edition of the Photonics West show. For the players in the optics and photonics sector, this is the first event of the year - and one not to be missed!

From February 5 – 7, San Francisco’s Moscone Center will be the venue for an extraordinary program with a huge variety of products, companies and innovations on show. In 2012, the event attracted 6707 exhibitors and 20,324 visitors.

In terms of international business development,  Provence Promotion is no newcomer to the event; each year, the economic development agency  makes numerous new contacts there. Already, a dozen or so meetings have been arranged, plus visits to stands of companies previously identified in sectors that could be potentially interesting for Provence’s optics and photonics industry.

Supported for many years by the major local institutions (Conseil Régional and Conseil Général, but also the groupings of local communities and city authorities), the industry in Provence today provides an excellent environment both in terms of infrastructure and research.

As a result, companies have access to dedicated structures, including the Hotel Technoptic business services center, technical centers and laboratories such as the LAM (Laboratoire d'Astrophysique de Marseille) and the world-renowned Optitec Competitive Cluster. The Photonics West event, therefore, will be an opportunity to highlight the many assets the local industry has to offer.

To back up its case, Provence Promotion will also be able to count on the support of the local companies present such as Cilas (Aubagne, France Booth 1324), First Light Imaging (Marseille, France Booth 1225) and Silios Technologies (Peynier, France Booth 6000) who will provide on-site testimonials to successes and know-how “Made in Provence”.
