Belle de Mai Media Park Welcomes the Marseille Web Fest

An international festival to discover the world of web series, a new media with an innovative style

On October 14 and 15 next, the Belle de Mai Media Park will be hosting the Marseille Web Fest, a new type of international festival exclusively dedicated to the web series phenomenon.

These -often very imaginative- videos, specially created for the digital screen and released on the Internet, are enjoying a huge boom. Based on the concept of television series and totally in-line with the current transmedia explosion, web series are attracting more and more attention from video professionals and the media.

As part of its ongoing drive to support the economic development of the region’s audiovisual industry, Provence Promotion is sponsoring the event, the international gathering providing an opportunity to meet producers, distributors and broadcasters from the world over.

The only event of its kind in Europe, echoing the first event organized in 2010 in Los Angeles, the Marseille Web Fest will be showcasing an official selection of more than 20 international web series.

Addressing the core issues in this emerging sector, the event also includes conferences and workshops with well-known names from the industry that will explore the technical, legal and creative aspects of the web series and look at its commercial outlets, particularly in terms of broadcasting.

Orchestrated by Imago Production, the festival’s aim is to be open to everyone - industry professionals, artists and aficionados alike!
