The Provence region is a rich source of recognized expertise in the field of medical imaging

In early 2011, construction work will start on the new CERIMED (European Center for Research into Medical Imaging) building on the Timone-Health campus of the Université de la Méditerrannée, close to the university hospital center housing most of the AP-HM’s (Marseilles hospital authority) medical imaging capacity. A choice of location that was both strategic and obvious for the CERIMED, the ongoing projects of which will contribute to the advancement of techniques for diagnosing and monitoring certain diseases (cancer, neurological, cardiovascular…). Professor Charles Oliver of the endocrinology department at the Timone Hospital in Marseilles is the CERIMED project coordinator.
