Provence Promotion at Pollutec in Lyons

The International exhibition of environmental equipment, technologies and services

This year, Lyons is playing host to the 24th edition of the Pollutec exhibition. Provence Promotion and its institutional partners Pays d’Aix Développement, the PACA Risk Management Cluster and the PACA Marine Competitive Cluster will be presenting the region’s expertise under the joint banner of Ea Eco-Entreprises and the Europôle de l’Arbois technology park.

Pollutec: A unique meeting point for the world’s environmental sector

A ‘must-attend’ event for members of the environmental sector, Pollutec brings together 75,000 visitors and 2400 exhibitors in a 27-acre exhibition space, staking its claim as the showcase for technological watch with more than 200 innovations previewed.
No fewer than 300 conferences are being presented on themes as diverse as bio-sourced products, waste water, renewable energy sources or research and financing. Several TV spots are planned throughout the show.

The opportunity for Provence Promotion to underline the region’s commitment to the environment

With the creation of the competitive clusters (Capenergie, Risk Management, PACA Marine) and Ea-Eco-Entreprises (the association dedicated to the environment and sustainable development), the presence of the Europôle de l’Arbois technology park and the introduction of specific financial measures, the region has given itself the means to address the issues of the environment and sustainable development.

In terms of human resources, the region can rely on mine of skills and know-how with 300 available initial training programs with levels of qualification ranging from CAP (vocational training certificate) to engineering diploma.

Their presence at Pollutec will allow Provence Promotion and its partners to underline the work being carried out in the environmental sector and to present the cross-sector offer provided by the Provence region across all the sector’s many professions.

Spotlighting the region’s expertise

Provence has positioned itself as one of the leading European regions in matters of energy and has developed a specific expertise in the field of water management and water resources development.

Overall, the sector represents:
- 9900 jobs in collecting and managing waste, treatment of waste water;
- 5000 jobs in water purification and management;
- 7500 jobs (of which 3500 in R&D) in risk management (natural, industrial and technological),
- N°1 area in France for insolation;
- N°2 area in France for hydro power;
- N°3 area in France for wind power;
- N°3 area in France for forest resources.

Whether it’s in the field of drinking water, renewable or fossil energies or even waste recycling, the Provence region has acquired an undeniable expertise in the environment-related industries.

It’s on this stand entirely given over to local governmental and institutional bodies that Provence Promotion will be promoting the region’s assets.
