Provence Promotion is making its final preparations before the start of the Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona. IoT, smart cities, big data, artificial intelligence, and eHealth are the key fields the economic development agency will focus on. Over the four-day congress, Provence Promotion has scheduled around 30 B2B meetings. To promote the Aix-Marseille Provence metropolitan area, its benefits and talent, Provence Promotion has also organized an event with exhibitor S4M. At a networking cocktail held at the S4M booth, the digital marketing company will present how it set up its business in Provence. They will also receive the "Invest in Provence" label, an honorary certification for businesses that develop new projects in the Aix-Marseille Provence and Arles area. After the congress, Provence Promotion will return to Provence with about 10 prospective companies as part of the Provence, IoT, AI & Smart City Tour. This tour will present the area and the key players of the local digital ecosystem.

Held in Barcelona from February 26 to March 1, 2018, the Mobile World Congress is the most important event in the mobile industry. This huge congress has been a key event for years and provides a fertile ground for foreign digital prospecting. A large number of start-ups and promising businesses from around the world rub shoulders with tech giants like Samsung, Archos, Sony, Huawei and Wiko. Over 100,000 people are expected to attend.

During its prospecting campaign, Provence Promotion targeted digital fields, which relate to the large projects in the area:

  • thecamp, a large, international campus dedicated to digital experiments, which provides, among others, a collaborative residency program for young coders of the future.
  • Euroméditerranée, which strives to transform Marseille into a smart city through the largest urban planning project in Europe.
  • AixMarseille French Tech, which brings together a growing community of digital players and promotes the growth of startups in the area.

About 30 meetings have been schedules with innovative technology companies to present what the area has to offer in terms of real estate, financial assistance, human resources, and guidance to implement development projects. These prospective companies will be invited to the "Invest in Provence" event, organized with S4M.

The S4M event: shining the spotlight on the Provence digital hub

What better way to quickly and effectively highlight the business opportunities of the area than through a company testimonial? S4M, a mobile-native ad tech company, which has recently received the support of Provence Promotion in setting up offices in Provence, will share its experience at a networking cocktail held at its booth.

In partnership with Euroméditerranée and Aix-Marseille French Tech, this cocktail, organized by Provence Promotion, will bring together Provence businesses and start-ups with projects leaders who are interested in potentially expanding their economic activities to Provence.

S4M, who will testify to the attractiveness of the area for the digital industry, will receive the "Invest in Provence" label, a symbol of success and recognition for its investment in Provence.

"Networking overtime" with the Provence, IoT, AI & Smart City Tour

If the congress is indisputably a golden opportunity to network, then the après-congress also presents an important moment for Provence Promotion. With increased competition between regions, inviting this delegation of businesses on the Provence, IoT, AI & Smart City Tour is a strategic move to attract investors.
