San Francisco – A Mecca for Optics-Photonics Professionals

As host city for the annual Photonics West exhibition, San Francisco will be the place to be for optics-photonics professionals between February 1 and 6 this year. Each year, one thousand exhibitors and around 20,000 international visitors converge on the Moscone Convention Center for this key industry event. Provence Promotion will be among those visitors this year with the mission to target prospects at the "BiOS Expo", one of the simultaneous events annexed to "Photonics West" and dedicated to biomedical optics and biophotonics.

The worldwide interest in optics and photonics continues unabated. It is a leading-edge sector in the vanguard of industrial innovation. It many applications (aeronautics, health, energy, ITC etc) and the different scientific fields it encompasses are all avenues of economic development for the Marseille-Provence region. Indeed, a new building to host optics-photonics sector companies, the Hotel Technoptic, was officially inaugurated in 2012.

During the show’s five days, B2B meetings organized by Provence Promotion will be used to promote the optics-photonics sector in Provence. The agency will be boosted by the presence on stand 4018 in Hall D of the Optitec competitive cluster and several of Provence’s technology companies representing the region’s attractiveness.
