Marseille Provence Métropole Urban Community has an  economic development strategy that relies on the driving  forces that are the knowledge-based economy, the productive economy, transportation and logistics.  To encourage and promote the development of these industries, MPM creates business and industrial parks that bring  together companies in a same sector or with complementary lines of business. The Athélia V Eco-Park is one of these.  Located at the La Ciotat exit of the A50 autoroute between Marseille and Toulon, the park already has considerable  regional visibility, having attracted 240 companies and created 4000 new jobs. With this project, MPM is breathing new economic life into the south-east corner of its  territory.
